A PIR metal insulation panel is an insulated sandwich panel consisting of a rigid PIR (Polyisocyanurate) foam core enclosed between two protective metal sheets. Also known as a PIR sandwich panel or PIR insulated panel, it provides excellent thermal insulation, good fire performance, and durable construction.
With its high insulation performance and lightweight structure, PIR sandwich panels are widely used for cold rooms, cooling rooms, walk-in cold rooms, freezer rooms, food processing facilities, refrigerated warehouses, and modular insulated walls and roofs. PIR panels can also be used for insulated flooring systems where high thermal insulation is required.
Key Characteristics of PIR Sandwich Panels
Excellent Thermal Insulation
PIR panels provide a low thermal conductivity of approximately 0.022 W/m·K, helping minimize heat transfer and maintain stable internal temperatures.
Excellent Water Resistance
The closed-cell PIR foam core has low water absorption, helping maintain insulation performance in humid and temperature-controlled environments.
Lightweight Construction
PIR sandwich panels offer a high insulation-to-weight ratio, making them easier to handle, transport, and install compared with many conventional insulation materials.
Cost-Effective Insulation
PIR panels combine thermal performance, durability, and efficient installation, providing a cost-effective insulation solution for cold storage and industrial applications.
Strong & Durable Construction
The metal facings protect the PIR insulation core while providing additional mechanical strength, durability, and a smooth finished surface.

PIR Panel Construction
The standard PIR metal insulation panel consists of:
Metal Sheet + Rigid PIR Foam Core + Metal Sheet
Raw Materials
PIR Sandwich Panels are manufactured using high-quality pre-painted galvanized steel or aluminum sheets bonded to a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam core.
The PIR core provides excellent thermal insulation and enhanced fire performance compared with conventional PUR insulation. This makes PIR panels suitable for a wide range of temperature-controlled and industrial applications.
Available RAL Colors
PIR metal insulation panels are available in a range of RAL colors, allowing customers to match their cold room, warehouse, or building design requirements.
Common colors include:
· RAL 9002 – Grey White
· RAL 5010 – Gentian Blue
· RAL 9006 – White Aluminum
· RAL 9010 – Pure White
Custom RAL colors and surface finishes are also available upon request, subject to production requirements.
Available Steel Sheet Surface Types
PIR metal insulation panels are available with different steel sheet surface profiles to meet various application requirements:
Flat | Fine Embossed | Ribbed Embossed
